March 30, 1942 – July 24, 2025

Sr. Klarita was born on March 30, 1942, in Roth as the fourth child of Albert Holzheimer and Ottilie Holzheimer (née Fiegl). She was baptised on April 6, 1942, with the name Hannelore at the hospital in Roth. Sr. Klarita had eleven siblings, six of whom are still alive. She attended elementary school in Roth from 1948 to 1956.
On August 1, 1956, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother in Abenberg and attended secondary school (English Institute) in Bamberg.
In 1958, she attended a one-year domestic science course at Marienburg and was then trained as a kindergarten teacher.
On August 12, 1961, she took her vows and received the name Sr. M. Klarita vom hl. Altarsakrament (Sr. M. Klarita of the Most Holy Sacrament). She took her first vows in 1963 and her final vows in 1968.
She worked as a kindergarten teacher in Bad Windsheim and Schwabach.
In order to be able to teach at the newly established secondary school for girls, she attended a specialist training course in handicrafts and home economics in 1968 and completed her teaching qualification in 1974. This was followed by an art course with a state examination.
From 1975 to 1987, she worked as a home economics and art teacher at the secondary school for girls in Abenberg.
As the arts were increasingly restricted in secondary schools, Sr. M. Klarita began studying a theology course in Vienna, which she successfully completed in 1989. She later took courses in spiritual direction and retreat guidance.
In 1989, she was transferred to Eichstätt, where she worked as a teacher at the seminary for boys until 1993. From the school year 1993 onwards, she worked as a religion teacher at the primary and secondary school in Etting/Böhmfeld and at the Eichstätt support centre.
In 2015, when the branch in Eichstätt was dissolved, Sr. M. Klarita was transferred to Abenberg in the local community of Marta and Maria.
Together with the sisters of the convent, she moved to the Schwesternwohnheim in 2024.
After a long illness, most recently with great pain, she was called home to her Creator on July 24, 2025.
With great zeal and an inner longing, Sr. M. Klarita lived her vocation and her mission to bring the fullness of life to children and adults.
On July 29, 2025, she was buried in the sisters’ cemetery at Marienburg in Abenberg. Her fellow sisters, her siblings, nieces and nephews, the meditation group and former students of the secondary school for girls were able to say goodbye. After the funeral, we celebrated the Requiem in the Stilla Church.
Rest in peace!
