Laudato Si’ Week 2024

Rome, May 14, 2024

Dear Sisters, Novices and Postulants,
Dear Associates and Friends,

We are approaching Laudato Si’ Week, which will take place on May 19-26, 2024. The theme of this year is “Seeds of Hope”. We SSM will join Catholic communities around the world in celebrating this occasion to “protect our Common Home through concrete actions and simple changes in the way we live” (Celebration Guide, Laudato Si’ Week 2024).

Each one of us is invited to choose a way to be a sign of sowing hope in our community, family, workplace and ministry. As a local community, family, or individual you can be creative with one activity of our choice.

The Celebration Guide—available in English, Italian, and Portuguese, provides activity suggestions for each day of the week. Feel free to use it as a resource. You can download it at this link:

As Pope Francis reminds us, “As believers, we do not look at the world from without but from within, conscious of the bonds with which the Father has linked us to all beings. By developing our individual, God-given capacities, an ecological conversion can inspire us to greater creativity and enthusiasm in resolving the world’s problems and in offering ourselves to God “as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable” (Rom 12:1).” (Pope Francis, Laudato si’ #220).
